David Evans
David's professional career began in civil engineering, after graduating from Loughborough University. Over several years he held two technical posts which were to form a lasting interest in engineering computing. Working first for the Greater London Authority on an ambitious, city-wide transport simulation project, before moving to the consulting firm W. S. Atkins & Partners to work in software Research & Development.
In 1985, PDA Engineering of California invited David and a colleague to open PDA's first European operation to win new customers, and train and support their use of advanced techniques for computer aided engineering (CAE). Target industries were tier one manufacturers - notably in aerospace, automotive, government and energy sectors. By 1993 revenues were exceeding £12m and David was responsible as Director for sales, marketing and technical support in the UK and Nordic regions.
In 1994 David moved to the MacNeal Schwendler Corporation and continued his sales management career as Director of European Business Development for new markets. He was responsible for bidding for new business in key European markets, and achieved two strategic breakthroughs into offshore engineering and consumer electronics. It was this post that placed the greatest demand upon David: building an advanced technology business - again from a low base was critically dependent upon the skills and industrial knowledge of its professional staff.
In 2000 David elected to work independently as part of a complementary network of associates. Early assignments capitalised upon his experience in business development, but gradually he returned to specialising in the performance of professional staff, particularly in proposal environments. Having secured accreditation to a range of programmes he delivers, to this day, workshops to a wide range of business to business firms. Topics include sales team management, selling to large enterprises, and communication skills.
In 2003 he began his collaborative association with Sixfold, and one year later was accredited by Novations Inc to deliver its Talent Development® and Talent Coaching® programmes; extending this portfolio in 2006 with their newest programme, Contributing Through Others®. With a career long interest in leadership and development David was appointed in 2005 as UK Consultant Partner for Novations Group of Boston, North America. His relationship with Novations (and their unique research) has marked a long term goal to focus his expertise towards a growing demand from customers to assist in their Organizational Development.
David's career thrust has been in driving business, but he brings first hand (and customer) experience of how managing talent, at all levels, can drive sustained performance for organisations and staff alike. As a Director of Sixfold International Limited he contributes to its bid excellence programmes. In addition he represents the US firm "Novations Group" to all Sixfold customers
