Bid Manager
Role Description
The Bid Manager takes responsibility for medium sized projects that typically require local management approval. The Bid Manager will work to deliver a defined win strategy, to ensure the solution is properly communicated and that the bid is approved by the company. This may involve multinational bid teams and bid team members whose first language is not English.
A number of Bid Managers will often work on larger projects reporting to a Bid Director.
Role Capabilities
The Bid Manager is a good motivator and manager of people and is used to working under tight time pressure and with limited direct authority. The Bid Manager is a first rate project manager and will quickly map out effective work plans . He/she is a good communicator and will doggedly ensure that people deliver on their commitments. The Bid Manager understands the win strategy and will ensure that all contributors reflect this in their work.
Role Experience
A Bid Manager will have been responsible for the production of a number of winning bids or tenders. He/She will also have Project Management qualifications or have delivered a number of large projects on time and to budget. He/She will typically have had over 10 years involvement with the bidding or delivering of large complex projects.
