Bid Strategy Author

Role Description

The Bid Strategy Author is responsible for creating the key areas of text that will make the difference between winning and losing. The Executive Summary, the Solution Overview and the Implementation Plan are examples of these. The Bid Strategy Author will extract the key messages and win themes from a variety of different sources and create coherent and compelling text. He/she will have the ability and experience to challenge members of the bid team, where he/she feels these vital components are weak or even wrong.

Role Capabilities

The Bid Strategy Author has an ordered and focused approach that allows him/her to efficiently collect all available input, assess and define additional needs and motivate appropriate contributors to provide it. The Bid Strategy Author also has a creative and intuitive side. Strongly focused on client needs, the Bid Strategy Author is able to create a very readable narrative that succinctly pulls together all the sales strands into a compelling customer message.

Role Experience

A Bid Strategy Author will typically have been a sales leader, having successfully led long term complex bids. A Bid Strategy Author will also have proved his/her ability to create quality text by having contributed to many bids in the past.
