Contributing Through Others
Emerging leaders face a significant challenge - transitioning from successful, independent contributors to organisational leaders who contribute in a fundamentally different way: through others.
Research shows that the majority of new leaders never make this transition with complete success. Their high performance as independent contributors provides no guarantee of realising a corresponding performance in a leadership role.
Unless people build new competencies, broaden their influence and engage in developing and inspiring their teams they will not meet organisational expectations as leaders; and their future contribution could decline.
Delivered by Sixfold, this one-day workshop examines the leadership role and its impact upon business performance. Based upon extensive industry research The Four Stages of Contribution - this structured programme provides insights (research resources), tools, and a clear development framework for individuals to become exceptional leaders.
Participants will be able to:
- Understand the change in behaviours necessary for leadership roles
- Learn the importance of building trust and its reliance upon effective communication
- Appreciate the organisational value of development for everybody and recognise the commonly expressed barriers to development
- Understand the different ways to develop breadth
- Create a plan for self-development that incorporates building influence inside and outside your immediate organisation
